Meet Dr. Lisa Markman
Hi, I am Dr. Lisa Markman, a pediatrician with nearly 25 years of experience. I obtained my undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, pursued my medical education at Wayne State University, and completed my pediatric residency at The Children’s Hospital of Colorado. Throughout my career, I have been a Pediatric Hospitalist, I have served as the Assistant Pediatric Residency Program Director at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, I have focused extensively on Child Advocacy and have been an outpatient Pediatrician. With a background that includes working at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, the University of Michigan, Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, and highly regarded private practices in the area, I bring a wealth of expertise and a compassionate approach to my practice. I am dedicated to ensuring that students receive outstanding medical care when they are far from home.
Campus M.D.'s Story
The idea for Campus Care M.D. came to me when my eldest daughter went out of state for college. Being sick and far from home is often upsetting and overwhelming for students and not knowing what is going on with your child can trigger even the most rational of parents. Although health services and urgent care were available, they could not provide the level of care I wanted her to have.
What I really wanted was for her to have a doctor there that knew her well. That she could see when she was sick, that she could talk to when she had questions and that could prescribe her regular medications
I wanted someone to not only reassure her, but to also reassure me that she was safe being so far from home.
